His tally against Leicester gives Kane 26 Premier League goals this season, and 32 in all competitions.

The 23-year-old England global improved to 26 goals - two clear of Everton's Romelu Lukaku with one match remaining.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said he was proud how Kane had shown he is one of the best strikers in the world in again contesting to be leading scorer despite two spells out injured.

Not only that, Kane is slowly moving up the table of past goalscorers in the top flight. "When I talk with our owner next Wednesday, I will say to him and of course after, our players and our fans will know".

“We are so, so calm about our key players.

"Since I came they came to support the team and we were stronger in our stadium". Kane and Dele Alli have scored 43 Premier League goals between them, and along with Son, who scored twice against Leicester, Spurs have three players with 20 or more goals in all competitions this season.

The 23-year-old would surely have scored more than 40 if he hadn't missed two chunks of this season with ankle injuries, and Pochettino spoke glowing about Kane's appetite for success.

Sanchez's recent burst of four goals in three games has lifted his total to 23, the best scoring season of his career.

HAT-TRICK: Harry Kane gets the goal that puts him above Romelu Lukaku in the #PL standing as Spurs 5-1 up! He means a lot for the team.

After an unimpressive first-half, the Foxes started the second-half on the front-foot and pulled one back just before the hour-mark when Lloris came to sweep up after Vardy was played in on goal by Wilfred Ndidi, but the Frenchman made a mess of his clearance, leaving youngster Chilwell to calmly find the net from the edge of the area for his first senior goal.

Harry Kane took a huge step towards the Premier League Golden Boot as he smashed four goals in Tottenham's 6-1 demolition of Leicester.

"I think I said to someone the other day it would be great if I can get to that 100 club by the end of next season", Kane said.

"The first three games I didn't score but then I went on a good run".

Tottenham have been superb this season, and have won 12 of their past 13 league games.

After collapsing in the final furlong last season, Tottenham have largely handled the pressures of the title race better this time. They have a tough game against Arsenal.
