The Warriors, who beat Cleveland for the title in 2015, swept the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference finals and host game one of the championship series in Oakland next Thursday.

James, 32, surpassed Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan as the all-time leading scorer in the play-offs. Then, the Celtics played tough for two-and-a-half quarters in Game 4 before the Cavs dominated down the stretch to take a 3-1 series lead.

They found themselves up 43-27 after the first quarter, and went into the half with a 75-57 lead. The 109 points through three quarters marked the most the Celtics have allowed in the shot-clock era.

Irving, who shook off a Game 4 twisted ankle, was 9 of 15 from the floor and 4 of 8 from three-point range.

While the Warriors have posted a ideal 12-0 record in the playoffs this season, the Cavs have almost matched them.

As Cleveland faltered in the regular season, the Celtics had seized the top seed in the East.

James, Irving and Love took command from the opening tip-off on Thursday. Cleveland won the three road games in the series by a combined 90 points, the last two by a total of 77.

Love scored Cleveland's first eight points and finished the opening frame with 10 points and five rebounds. A 26-11 run by the Cavs to close the third quarter is what officially put this game away.

For Boston, guard Avery Bradley was the only player to get anything going, with most of his 23 points coming in the first half.

"We're definitely disappointed. I felt like if we weren't, it would be a problem", Bradley said.

Myers said that if Kerr starts to feel better, the Warriors would make a decision on his status, but added, "Right now, we're not putting on any deadlines should he feel better what we would do".

The Warriors became the first team in league history to open the playoffs 12-0, which provides them with a week of rest prior to their third straight finals appearance.

The Los Angeles Lakers had set the previous record of 12 straight wins in potential elimination games from 2000-2004.
