In Atlanta, Dennis Schroder shook off a slow start to score 18 points in the Hawks' 111-101 win over the Washington Wizards that knotted their National Basketball Association playoff series at two games apiece. Game 5 will be played Wednesday at Washington. "He was a big part of their win tonight". Game 5 will be played on Wednesday night at the Verizon Center. After being released by the Los Angeles Lakers, Calderon was going to sign with Golden State, but that got nixed when Kevin Durant was hurt and the Warriors had to go in a different direction.

Keeping an Eye on Scoreboard While the players will be focused on tonight's game, the rest of us will keep an eye on the out-of-town scoreboard as the result of the Celtics-Bulls game will impact what could be next for the Wizards.

For the first time in the series, they've started sending double teams from the baseline to help Morris, but he still spent most of the second half on the bench with foul trouble.

Germany's Schroder drained two 3-pointers, made a jump shot and a driving layup in the final 4 minutes as the Hawks thwarted a Wizards comeback bid in Atlanta. He also had three steals and three blocks.

As far as pessimism goes, the Hawks still haven't shown that they can win a road game. But beyond the guards, no other Wizard had averaged more than 10.5 points (the foul-saddled Markieff Morris).

They tied the score with an 11-0 run as Hardaway scored eight of the points with two 3-pointers.

Atlanta won the first quarter of the night 25-23 despite starting off the game shooting 39 percent from the floor.

"If you're not locked in, it's easy to be forced to make mistakes - like the last game in Atlanta", Brooks said. I've got confidence in him, how he plays.

San Antonio shot 14 for 28 on 3-point attempts, two off its postseason record, including 5-for-7 shooting by Patty Mills. John Wall scored a series-low 22 points and added 10 assists and five rebounds.

Washington led 98-91 after Marcin Gortat's first field goal of the game with 5:00 left. Tim Hardaway (15 points) and Taurean Prince (10 points, six rebounds) contributed but they didn't get much from the other players on the roster. Total Fouls-Atlanta 21, Washington 20.

Ibaka and Powell each scored nine points in the first and the Raptors used a 17-0 run to open a 31-20 lead after the opening quarter.

In Toronto, the Raptors took a commanding 3-2 series lead over the Milwaukee Bucks with a 118-93 victory.

-Down 34-27, the Wizards got back in it with Howard and Millsap on the floor. He took his first free throws of the series in the fourth quarter, making 3 of 4.

"We're confident", Beal said.

In consecutive games, Washington has spent a single quarter being trampled. They would bring the lead to one or two points, but their execution on offense led to some poor shots.

Either way, the odd manner in which Atlanta seemed to allow the final half-minute or so to slip away while trailing - not fouling Washington to try to extend things; passing around the ball, instead of shooting it, as the clock headed toward zero - left the Wizards on the verge of closing out the teams' Eastern Conference first-round playoff series. Washington pushed its advantage in blocked shots to 19-9 for the series while winning the rebound battle 43-41. He sustained a neck injury during Game 3, left early and did not return. Washington has been without backup C Ian Mahinmi (strained left calf) all series.
