Although Trump is expected to temporarily halt his Mar-a-Lago visits with the onset of summer in May, it is likely that he will then switch to regularly visiting Trump Tower in New York City and the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

President Donald Trump hit up a golf course on Sunday despite the looming threat of war following his decision to launch airstrikes in Syria.

He was also seen hitting the links there on Saturday.

Counting two extended stays at Mar-a-Lago while he was president-elect, Trump's visits have cost local taxpayers about $3.7 million - mainly to pay overtime for Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies who assist the Secret Service with security for the president. It marked Trump's 16th visit to a golf course since his Inauguration Day.

Like Obama, the current commander-in-chief is an avid golfer.

"The King reaffirmed strong Saudi support for the United States' military strike against the Sayrat Airfield in Syria and thanked the President for his courageous action, which both agreed was a necessary response to the frightful chemical weapons attack on innocent civilians", a statement issued by the White House said.

"PresObama is not busy talking to Congress about Syria.he is playing golf ... go figure", Pres. Trump tweeted in 2013.

In comparison, former President Barack Obama didn't play his first round of golf until April 26th, 2009. The county has spent nearly $2 million since January.

Obama's travel bill totaled to $97 million during his eight-year presidency, about $12.1 million a year. He is pictured returning from Florida on Sunday, having hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping there.
