Carrie Fisher won't appear in "Star Wars: Episode IX", after all. Attention immediately focused in on Rogue One's resurrection of Peter Cushing's Tarkin, with fans speculating that Industrial Light & Magic could use CGI to recreate Leia. "She went from being an unknown actress, the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, to Princess Leia..."

Billie appeared as Lieutenant Connix in The Force Awakens, and will return in the same role for the forthcoming sequel, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is released in December (17).

Disney CEO Bob Iger said in March that the filmmakers were "not changing (The Last Jedi) to deal with her passing".

He posted the photo on Instagram on Friday with the caption: "So much like her mother in so many ways - it was nearly as if we were cuddling our Princess again!"

Carrie Fisher's death has shaken the tightly-knit Star Wars community, and her friends are still grieving her loss. I think every guy.

It's sad to know that Carrie won't be in Episode IX, but of course, that's more ideal that seeing another actress replacing her or featuring a CGI version of her in a saga film. It had been a crushing news for older fans of Star Wars who considered her as one of the most beloved characters of the franchise. Ridley says in The Last Jedi, we'll find out what happens next.

But Kennedy added, "Unfortunately. we were well underway in "Episode IX" in our thoughts, [but] we had not written the script yet".
