Freddie Roach: GSP wants Conor McGregor for his final fight

Perhaps he was inspired by the Dubliner's ambitious plans coming to fruition, perhaps there was a little jealousy over the fame and money McGregor garnered in his absence, or what's most likely, Sy-Pierre just knows good business when he sees it.

Conor McGregor may not have a chance in a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather, but there would still be much interest in such a fight because the Irishman was sure to trash-talk his opponent, believes Chris Weidman. "The fact that you can take a guy that has never lost in professional boxing and put him in there with a guy who has never done professional boxing and have a lot of people including people in the industry of boxing think that the guy who has never done it is going to beat your undefeated greatest of all time is an embarrassment for the sport". Mayweather and McGregor are arguably the biggest stars in combat sports.

"I think Floyd Mayweather is just too experienced with the boxing. Fighting against someone that has fought the top-level boxers over and over again and been victorious, I'm going to have to go with Floyd Mayweather".

It's unlikely Mayweather will be able to score the early KO some are predicting as "Money" hasn't stopped any fight legally since Ricky Hatton, and it's far more likely McGregor will make it to the later rounds, probably to the final bell.

In regard to the McGregor vs Mayweather Jr., White said that the outcome of the fight is unknown, making the fight to be interesting to watch. That is if he can win his first three bouts, starting with a title fight against Michael Bisping sometime later this year. "This guy is a giant". He's going to be so big and so heavy. "We'd have to maybe cut weight, meet in the middle somewhere, but there's long negotiations [that could] still happen, of course". His head is going to be so much bigger.

Although Weidman makes salient points about McGregor's size advantage, Mayweather is considered one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the sport and has amassed a ideal record of 49-0.
