Chelsea still favourites for FA Cup semi-final - Spurs manager Pochettino

I also think that the semi final of the cup this coming Saturday is being overplayed in the media and the fans as a 'league decider.' For sure whoever comes out on top will have gained huge amounts of confidence.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino said his side were underdogs for the Wembley clash.

The WOMEN'S Team of the Year has only been added in the last four years - Manchester City provide five of this season's XI, taking them alongside Arsenal with nine selections overall. "The team is playing in a good way, exciting football, scoring goals and not conceding not too many goals".

"To challenge this type of club is a very important thing for Tottenham".

"Every top player enjoys big games and this is a huge one at the weekend. We have the ideal mix and we are happy with this". Most would regard Alderweireld as one of, if not the, best centre-back in the Premier League. On form and results, Spurs have the best team in England since the start of 2017, but Chelsea are a formidable side.

Pochettino said he was especially proud of his work despite the greater spending power of the clubs around them.

In between there was the small matter of the 2015 League Cup final in which Jose Mourinho's Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-0.

"I would like to say, having worked with him, what a fantastic player he is and what a career he has had".

The cracks that have appeared in Chelsea's facade could open wider should they succumb to a rampant Tottenham side who have won seven successive league games.

Arsenal finished second and without a trophy last season but won the FA Cup in both 2014 and 2015.

Still, Pochettino is discounting form and making Chelsea the favorite.

All that is left is for Pochettino's men to mark their progress with some silverware but the Argentinian insists expectations should not rise too high too soon.

The Gunners are preparing to take on the Citizens at Wembley on Sunday as Arsene Wenger's men look to rescue a hard season by winning a trophy.

"I remember three years ago when we signed here I remember the first few press conferences and I was asked how we can reduce the gap to the top four", Pochettino said.

"After almost three years, we have not only reduced the gap to the top four, we're fighting to win the Premier League and to win some titles". That's the position we wanted and we achieved that.

Costa's run without goals is the worst of his Chelsea career, but Conte gave the biggest vote of confidence to his striker yet as he warned of a hard week for his players.

"We are showing that we are a team that you can trust". It's up to us to step up and make the dream a reality.
