Chelsea: Jose Mourinho hails Marcus Rashford

Lingard curled one over soon after and Old Trafford erupted as the net rippled in the 61st minute, only for it to quickly dawn on supporters that
Rashford had hit wide.

Rashford's display suggested he deserves to be given more chances through the centre, where United's top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic - rested on Sunday - has started nearly every game this season.

On the paper, Chelsea have an easier-looking run-in than Mauricio Pochettino's party, with the Blues playing four of their last six games home, whilst Spurs are visiting four and have to face sides such as United and Arsenal.

The centre-back refuses to panic just yet, though, and wants Chelsea to show what they are made of in this weekend's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham. We have a 50 per cent probability of winning the league.

"I have concern because we have to work together and find quickly the right ambition to win this title - if someone thinks it's normal for Chelsea to win the title, we started as underdogs after 10th place last season".

"To play this type of game from now and until the end, we must have great enthusiasm, great motivation to try to reach the target".

The three points took them into fifth spot, four points behind fourth-placed City.

Herrera and Matteo Darmian did brilliant stifling jobs in man-marking Eden Hazard and Pedro Rodriguez, respectively.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has insisted that he will not give up hope of a recall to the England squad having worked his way back into Jose Mourinho's first-team plans.

"The result means we keep two windows open to play Champions League football", Mourinho said.

"There are only six games left and we are still in a good position".

"They got a great start and then went on from there". We have to react in the right way.

"The two games were totally different - we didn't deserve to lose against Palace - but today [Sunday] we deserved to lose", he told a post-match news conference.
