One person was pronounced dead and 3 were severely injured in an accident that took place near Kashmere Gate in Delhi, early this morning. The injured men have been admitted to the Sushruta Trauma Centre near Civil Lines.

The injured and the deceased persons are yet to be identified.

The driver, a teenager, was with his two classmates when the accident occurred, police said.

The auto also had two other occupants, all of whom are Class 12 students, who managed to escape, the police said.

According to reports, the boys were out on a celebration after finishing their board exams.

The report also noted that the student would be turning 18 in four months time.

Initial investigation has revealed that the auto was being driven at a high speed and the driver lost control over the vehicle.

Chugh is a resident of Model Town in Delhi. The DCP, however, has refused to reveal his name until the age was confirmed.

The police is now investigating whether the student was inebriated while driving.

Sources said that the vehicle is owned by Chugh's friend, who was sitting along with him when the incident occurred, and police will book the father of the youth as the auto was registered in his name.
