OR mother, son succumb to injuries from fire that killed 4 children

13-year-old Andrew Hall-Young, 38-year-old Tabitha Annette Howell and 39-year-old James Keith Howell were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

When the Riddle and Tri-City Fire Departments arrived at the scene, they found multiple people dead and multiple people injured, according to deputies.

Hutson says Nicholas was a foster child.

Howell is the father of the youngest victim and the stepfather of two victims, ages 7 and 10.

An Oregon woman and her 13-year-old son who were critically burned in a house fire that killed four others died Thursday at a Portland hospital.

There were fewer than 10 people in the home when the fire broke out around 2 a.m.in Riddle, a struggling community about 200 miles south of Portland, Douglas County Deputy Dwes Hutson said. Grief counselors are meeting with students. Tabitha Howell is the mother of all the other children and is married to James Howell.

Porter said he couldn't provide any more information because he was awaiting details from authorities.

Hutson said more information would be forthcoming later in the day.
