Kohli angered by Steve Smith's 'brain fade' after being dismissed

There was more drama, though. Virat too lost his cool and he did not seem to mince his words in the press conference.

"I saw it two times when I was batting". It was an acrimonious game in which both Kohli and Smith were at the center of it with their antics. It tweeted the video of Smith's dismissal, with the caption wondering if the full form of DRS was "dressing room review system".

Virat Kohli noticed it and came furiously at Smith whereas Cheteshwar Pujara tried to block his view.

That got Kohli's goat.

The rules forbid players from consulting with anyone off the field about whether to seek a review from the umpires. Umpire Nigel Llong also realised that and Smith was given the marching orders. "I pointed it out to the umpire as well, that it's happened twice, that I've seen their players looking upstairs for confirmation and that's why the umpire was at him", said Kohli. And I told him, "You'll cherish the ones that you don't get hundreds in as they're so valuable for the team".

This did not go down well with the Indian captain as well, as he rushed towards the umpire after witnessing the incident. Sledging and playing against the opponents is different, but...

"I said "go for it" and he turned around and walked off, so I don't really know what more he wants from my end", Bailey noted at the time.

Earlier, Smith wrote off the incident for being a case of "brainfade".

Last month, Virat also shared a sweet Valentine's Day message for Anushka in which he said, "Everyday is a valentine day if you want it to be".

James Sutherland, however, stood by his player, describing Smith as an outstanding cricketer and a role-model to several budding cricketers, adding that "we have every faith that there was no ill-intent in his actions".

However, Smith claimed that it was a brain fade on his behalf after listening to Handscomb. I should not have done that. But Kohli would have none of it.

"Honestly, if someone makes a mistake while batting, for me, personally, that's a brain fade", he said.

Smith was hit low on his front pad squarely in front of the stumps by a ball that died on the pitch and was given out leg before. I was looking at our boys.

Chasing a massive victory target of 441, India scored just two more runs in their second innings to capitulate inside three days at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, making its debut as a test centre. "It's as simple as that". "It got to the point where fast bowler Ishant Sharma started mocking the visiting captain, to which Smith just replied with a wobble of the head". "I didn't use that word, you did", he snapped at an Australian journalist. When the series was there for the taking, Australia were stalled.
