Functionaries of the Indian National League Party on Monday submitted a representation at the Chennai Police Commissioner's office seeking action against actor Kamal Haasan for his tweet on the recent developments in Tamil Nadu politics.

Disagreeing with the outcome of Palaniswami's trust vote in Tamil Nadu Assembly, Kamal Hassan told a news channel, "The emotion on streets denote something else".

Ever since the demand for revoking the Supreme Court ban on Jallikattu snowballed into a massive people's movement and rendered successful results, Kamal has been very proactive in making his political views public. You need politicians with great balance.

Baradwaj Rangan, an award-winning film critic, rightly said, "2.0 isn't just the name of a Rajinikanth movie".

Earlier this day, a huge ruckus was created in the Tamil Nadu assembly by the DMK MLAs over the demand of secret ballot which was denied by Speaker P Dhanapal.

"Give #Sasikala a laptop in jail. Time to put more salt in our food", said actor Siddharth, insinuating that Mr Palaniswami would be "remote-controlled" by AIADMK chief VK Sasikala.
