Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross celebrate winning a point against Isabelle Forrer and Anouk Verge-Depre of Switzerland during the beach volleyball - women's preliminary - pool C, match 33 on day five of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games at the Beach Volleyball Arena on August 10, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

She found one in Ross, who won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in London with Jennifer Kessy. She can now add another lost set to the total after dropping the second in Wednesday's match against Switzerland's Isabelle Forrer and Anouk Verge-Depre. They'll have to wait until pool play ends to see if they qualify for the elimination round.

Walsh Jennings and Ross are looking to defend the Olympic gold medal that the former won with ex-partner Misty May-Traenor in 2012.

There are six pools of four teams in the preliminary rounds, and Walsh Jennings and Ross were drawn into Group C along with teams from Switzerland, China and Australia.

Ross and Walsh Jennings controlled the first set throughout by jumping out to 4-0 and 8-1 leads.
