U2 has confirmed they will embark on a new world tour starting in March 2017. "It's not finished yet but you will like it", he said, before comparing it favorably with one of their most beloved albums.

U2 have announced a new album and accompanying world tour. "In terms of lyrics it is strong than [U2's 1983 album] War; it has more clarity".

While the Edge conceded that "a U2 album plan has been known to be revised", he said the "working assumption" is for a 2016 release. "The second part of the tour is for 2017", he continued.

Speaking last week, Bono said "you might see a few things in September or October" meaning an album launch or a special one-off show to mark the band's 40th anniversary on September 25th.

Well, at the time, we were told that Songs of Innocence would be followed by Songs of Experience sometime in the first half of 2015...and we're still waiting.

"We are trying to really be brutal with the material and only focus on the things that we're really convinced are the best ideas".

The 'Innocence + Experience' tour ran for 76 dates previous year, beginning in Vancouver in May before ending in Paris in December. U2 have worked on 50 pieces of music for the record, which is expected to be called Songs of Experience.
