According to the latest updates from Screen Rant, season 3 of the Grant Gustin-led series will finally introduce the mother of Team Flash's resident biotech genius, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker).

In the upcoming season of "The Flash", Walters will play the role of the mother of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Carla Tannhauser - a world-class engineer and CEO of a big-time research company. Caitlin thinks her mother is "cold and withholding" while Carla sees Caitlin as "rebellious and ungrateful".

It was actually revealed in season 2, that both Caitlin and her Earth 2 doppleganger, Killer Frost, didn't feel all that great about their mothers. I think we saw a little snippet of Earth-2 Killer Frost's family that allowed Caitlin to open up a little bit more [about her own family, too]. While Caitlin has inherited her mother's scientific mind, the similarities seem to stop there are the two fail to see eye-to-eye on most things.

Walters, a The CW regular from her role in Still Star-Crossed and as Mayor Carol Lockwood in The Vampire Diaries, will play the recurring role of Carla Tanhauser in The Flash.

Season 3 is set to start up on Tuesday night, October 4th, 2016 at 7pm central time on The CW. Caitlin Snow is herself a scientist, working within S.T.A.R. Labs to support Barry Allen - also known as The Flash. Keep the conversation going in the comments section below!
