She wrote on Twitter: "In no way did I mean to offend anyone last night".

According to The Huffington Post, Twitter is now having a party with the hashtag #DemiLovatoIsOverParty thanks to her mother's drunken snapchat video that Lovato was laughing at via social media on Friday. Although the video has since been deleted and Demi Lovato has issued an apology, some fans still seem less than impressed with the singer and what they feel is her insensitivity to the matter at hand.

The 23-year-old posted the clip on Snapchat, in which her mother said: "Everybody down in Rio gonna get the Zika virus".

A third added: "Zika isn't a joke exactly like mental diseases aren't".

After apologising, Demi made it clear some of the nastier backlash she received from critics for posting the controversial Snapchat video doesn't rattle her confidence in the slightest.

Demi's mom, Dianna de la Garza added, "My deepest and sincerest apologies to everyone who was offended by this".

In no way did I mean to offend anyone last night.

One fan named Duda tweeted: "Zika virus is not a joke". Demi's fam is trash'.

Zika virus is mainly spread by mosquitoes and is a mild infection which isn't harmful to most people.

However Demi, who recently split with Wilmer Vanderrama after a five year relationship, left followers divided over the post, with some saying it was not enough. In explaining that decision, Demi Lovato said it was because she could not see what people thought of her on that platform. We totally respect her and her mom for apologizing right away. Do you think this is more of a misunderstanding than anything else?
