Carrie Fisher, who plays the role of Han Solo's wife Leia, hinted about "Han's funeral" taking place on the "Star Wars" franchise.

Apparently overhearing actor Warwick Davis, Fisher corrected herself "The old one, oh. No, I don't think we are divorced, we're just estranged".

On weekends, during the "Star Wars" Celebration Europe, the "Beautiful Creature" actor Alden Ehrenreich has been cast as a young Han Solo.

Ehrenheich, 26, emerged as the top choice out of 3,000 actors who auditioned for the coveted role, including the likes of Miles Teller, Scott Eastwood, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco and Tom Felton among others.

And while his may not be a household name, Ehrenreich has worked with a dream list of the medium's best directors, a list many actors work their whole career to achieve - Francis Ford Coppola, the Coen Brothers and Woody Allen, to name a few. It was the final panel at Star Wars Celebration, and Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo, Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart, Rian Johnson (Star Wars: Episode VIII) and directing duo Chris Miller and Phil Lord (the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story) were all in attendance to talk about the future of Star Wars films. The Han Solo Star Wars feature movie will come out in 2018, and will presumably make enough money fund a small island nation for three years.

"This dichotomy between a grouchy, seemingly cynical guy, with the biggest heart in the galaxy".

Johnson revealed why breaking with this precedent was crucial for the new film: "That was a really surreal thing to start things out".

Star Wars: Episode VIII will do what no Star Wars movie has done before.

"The story focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley", Disney said in a statement when announcing the upcoming movie a year ago.
