Josh Richardson of the Philadelphia 76ers and DeMar DeRozan of the San Antonio Spurs were named the NBA Players of the Week for week 12. DeRozan - after a quip about Lowry being "terrible"- said he feels the Raptors point guard has only gotten better as he has aged.

DeRozan led the way for the Spurs with 25 points, eight rebounds and four assists in a win that surely brought him no small amount of satisfaction. He has been instrumental in keeping the Raptors afloat amid injuries to the likes of Pascal Siakam and Marc Gasol. Toronto took a one-point lead on Siakam's free throw but Belinelli hit a three-pointer with 28.8 seconds to play for the Spurs.

DeRozan missed his first three free throws, but made the rest of the way to eleven.

The former Raptor, who was famously traded in the previous off-season to San Antonio for Kawhi Leonard, said there were no hard feelings following Toronto's championship run. He scored a game-high 25 points in the win. "It looks like the older he gets, the better he gets, and that's great to see".

It was his second game in Toronto since the blockbuster trade that also sent Jakob Poeltl to the Spurs. The Raptors had a double-digit lead over Portland last Tuesday in the fourth quarter and needed overtime to win in Charlotte the following night.

Raptors coach Nick Nurse said having Siakam and Powell back on the floor might be a "challenge".

San Antonio's comeback spoiled the returns of Siakam and Powell, each of whom had missed 11 games since a December 18 win at Detroit. Powell scored 20 points and Siakam had 15, including 12 in the first. Lowry got up and gave his son a kiss on the cheek, then returned to the court. It's just going to take a little bit, I'm sure.

The Raptors head to Oklahoma City on Wednesday then return home to host Washington on Friday.
