It is great to see what used to be such a small company, OnePlus starting to push the boundaries of innovation themselves. We know OnePlus follows a bi-annual launch cycle wherein it introduces regular flagship phones in the first half of the year and "T" version of the phones in the second half.

OnePlus has reportedly sent invites for a screen technology event that is scheduled on January 13.

"Regardless of this new" display technology" is, it likely will not debut on Any OnePlus tablets. If the Chinese company has anything else besides the 120Hz refresh rate display, it will certainly be a surprise.

It's worth pointing out that we've previously heard rumors about the OnePlus 8 series having 120Hz screens, some of which suggested that all three expected OnePlus 8 phones will have 120hz displays, and others which claim the OnePlus 8 Lite will stick with 90Hz. Hence, the company might talk about the high screen refresh rate technology.

A 120Hz screen refreshes twice as regularly as a normal phone, making the viewing experience much smoother than with a regular screen. Although no official announcement has yet been made, the event, which will take place on January 13, is said to introduce 120 Hz refresh rate technology.

OnePlus manager Carl Pei has promised that all OnePlus branded smartphones will have a refresh rate of at least 90 Hz in the coming months. We've already seen a large number of rumours and speculations surrounding the company's next flagship smartphones.
