Beckham explained himself thus: "I'm in the end zone".

Ole Miss large receiver Elijah Moore has issued an apology for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the final moments of Egg Bowl 2019.

Ole Miss appeared poised to tie the game with just four seconds remaining when Ole Miss receiver Elijah Moore grabbed a two-yard touchdown pass.

Moore acquired down on all fours and lifted his leg to imitate a dog peeing, which precipitated a 15-yard penalty on the following play.

And then when Logan misses the extra point, one announcer couldn't even try to contain his laughter and loses it. And that resulted in Ole Miss kicker Luke Logan missing wide right.

"We want to apologize formally as a program to the Ole Miss family for the disappointing end of Thursday's game", read Carter and Luke's statement, according to Parrish Alford of the Daily Journal. "That's not who we are. We've been a disciplined team all year, and so just disappointed that happened", Rebels coach Matt Luke said.

For MSU, the win extends a school-record 10-year bowl streak, while Ole Miss will conclude the year 4-8 and miss the postseason for the fourth time since 2015.

Okay, let's be clear. However, should some of these reactions by players, especially in a huge intense rivalry game, be overlooked by refs?

Moore, who will face further punishment for his actions, also expressed his regret.

His actions after a hard-fought game ultimately cost his team the ballgame.

For some, it was a reminder of the 2004 "fake moon" celebration by Vikings' Hall of Famer Randy Moss when he scored a late-game touchdown against Green Bay that, most notably, set off broadcaster Joe Buck, who called the move "a disgusting act" moments after it took place.

"I apologize to my teammates, coaches and Insurgent Nation for my actions on the finish of the sport", Moore stated via a crew spokesperson, making his first public touch upon the sport.
