In The Irishman, the actress portrays Peggy Sheeran, the daughter of mafia hitman Frank Sheeran, played by De Niro.

So she has questions when Hoffa goes missing and her father reveals that he has not yet reached out to Hoffa's wife. Scorsese has also said that it's been a very long process of making The Irishman and Netflix was the most appropriate platform to work with, not just because Netflix funded the big-budget movie but also they had given Scorsese more control than what he was expecting.

"The Irishman", now streaming on Netflix", was directed by Martin Scorsese and also stars Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. "She is terrific and it resonates", De Niro explained.

Speaking in an interview with USA Today, the 76-year-old actor defended Paquin's role in the movie and shared that she was really powerful in the epic gangster pic. "I think sometimes a look is worth a thousand words and the internalized judgement that she has passed on her father is not something that she would be able to verbalize, not at that stage of her life".

"Why", Peggy asks Frank to which he responds "Wha?" Even after being the most prominent female character in the movie, Paquin only speaks seven words in her ten-minute screen time. If he wanted the character to be such a small role, cast a smaller actress. "Maybe in other scenes, there could've been some interaction between Frank and her possibly, but that's how it was done".

Paquin doesn't appear to be too upset about her limited dialogue, either.

"Nope, nobody was doing any 'ordering, '" she wrote.

The Irishman, Silence's first directorless film (not Bob Dylan) in 2016, deserves to be seen in a theater, but since this is not an option for everyone, it's enough to watch him on Netflix.
