One of the more exciting news that was announced at The Game Awards 2019 is the new Dungeons & Dragons game, Dark Alliance.

Some people will also notice how familiar the title is because this is sort of a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance hits PC and unspecified console platforms in spring 2020. "We call it emergent combat, where you have a quick attack, a heavy attack, and you can build combos out of that based on how to like to play".

Although little is known about the story of Dark Alliance yet, it will transport Drizzt and his companions away from the city of Baldur's Gate and instead to another iconic D&D local: the frigid lands of Icewind Dale. It has attracted so many new players and fans through livestreams, books, and huge references in pop culture, like with Stranger Things.

"I understand when players criticize games for not having an offline mode, but at the same time if you do allow for an offline mode, it's really easily hacked and that breaks the integrity of the game for the rest of the players". With Dark Alliance place for release next season, fans wont have to wait too long to see just how hard the travel is for Drizzt when it's undertaken alone - and also how fun it really is when he's got his companions in his side. Alas, you'll have to decide who in your group gets to play Drizzt, while the others play Catti-Brie, Bruenor, and Wulfgar. Is it likewise inspired by what came before, or a new narrative made just for the game? We spoke with R.A. Salvatore early on in the conceptual phase and he shared his insights. They've aged, obviously, but they exist.
