Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first Juventus goal since October to rescue a 2-2 Serie A draw against Sassuolo in Turin on Sunday, as the Italian champions dropped points for only third time this season.

Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri has made it clear who he hopes wins the Ballon d'Or on Monday, but insists he does not care about individual awards that are voted by journalists.

"The games after a Champions League week are always hard because of a lack of energy". We had a first half without application and little energy from the character point of view.

"The reaction came at the end and we could even have won it".

Martinez was the hero for Inter last Wednesday when he scored twice in a crucial 3-1 Champions League win at Slavia Prague, and the striker needed just 16 minutes to make his mark against Spal.

Eighteen-year-old Stefano Turati made an impressive debut in the Sassuolo goal, and pulled off a string of fine saves, denying Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Dybala late.

Lamenting the succession of errors that led to Gianluigi Buffon's fumble for Sassuolo's second goal, Sarri said: 'It was an incredible series of mistakes, from a bad back-pass to another that hit a Sassuolo player.

But Juventus counterpart Gianluigi Buffon had a hard game in Turin as the 41-year-old, making just his fifth start this season, had a role in Caputo´s goal just after the break.

Centre-back Leonardo Bonucci's 20th-minute opener was cancelled out within three minutes as Jeremie Boga replied for the 13th-placed visitors, who started the day three points above the relegation zone.

Caputo added a second following a mix-up between Juan Cuadrado and Matthijs De Ligt in the Juventus defence, with Buffon then fumbling the effort into the back of the net. Apart from sharing a homeland with him, he also praised the striker's bold move from Real Madrid to the Italian club previous year. Before the game, I told him to enjoy the moment - to be 18 playing against these champions is wonderful.

Lazio remained third, seven points off top spot after easing to the win over Udinese.
