Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak underwent emergency surgery Thursday, forcing the popular game show to cancel its taping for the day, the show revealed in a tweet Friday evening.

Sajak is said to be resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work.

On Friday, tapings resumed with a familiar face as host. It is the longest-running syndicated game show in the USA, with 7,000 episodes taped and aired as of May 10, 2019. White joined the show in 1982 and the duo have been closely identified with the show for decades.

As soon as "WOF" announced the news on Pat Sajak, fans began flooding their Instagram feed with positive vibes and messages of love while the legendary TV host recovers from emergency surgery.

"Another commented, sending well wishes mr. sajak! vanna's holding it down".

Sajak and White have co-hosted the show since the early 1980s.

It is unknown how long White will host the program. "And here it's been 36".
