The centre also revealed everyone's been asking if the extra tail on his face wagged or not. "He seems completely healthy other than some usual puppy worms he got meds for".

There are no plans to remove Narwhal's second tail.

The centre wrote: "The extra tail is not connected to anything and has no real use other than making him the COOLEST PUPPY EVER!"

She said they have had a dog with five legs, a three-legged dachshund, blind and deaf animals, as well as dogs with cleft palates and mange - but she has never previously seen anything like Narwhal. Well good news because there's TWO OF THEM.

Staff have named him "Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn" - and he has become something of a viral superstar after they shared his pictures on Facebook. Here is what his normal routine is: being a puppy. BOL!

Narwhal is a little different from the other puppies.

And, Ms Steffen says, as its work is "strictly grassroots, through social media" the extra attention "is majorly epic for so many new folks to find out about our awesome little rescue". We think he appreciates not being outside in this bad freezing snow mess.

The 10-week-old furball who was rescued by Mac's Mission - a nonprofit dog rescue that predominately helps pups with special needs - has a small tail-like growth on his forehead.

Accordingly to the Mac's Mission website, it specialises in "homeless "janky" dogs who would die without us".

The cute pooch has gone viral.

The post has since garnered more than 8,000 likes, 1,000 comments and 1,500 shares.

Narwhal exemplifies the rescue group's philosophy that their charges are all the more lovable for their abnormalities, Steffen said.

"He is pretty much the most unique fantastic example of what we do here, and we are so thankful to have the chance to be part of his journey", the rescue said on Facebook. Not even a little bit.
