Masvidal said he wants his next opponent to provide the biggest paycheck, and the most lucrative fight in combat sports history was when UFC star Conor McGregor faced boxing great Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match on August 26, 2017.

'I'm open to the money and [Diaz is] a money fight.

"Not every fighter can say, "Hey, the president is showing up to my fight", you know?"

"We had dinner last Thursday at the White House, and he said "I'm coming". I'm not going to get exhausted in a 12 round boxing event, especially if I have time to prepare for it.

"I'm not giving up on that title", Thompson told reporters, including MMA Junkie, post-fight the UFC 244 post-event news conference. I heard we fucking killed him on the pay-per-views. "Once I felt I could not guarantee the health and safety going forward, I had to make a tough call".

Gamebred doubled down on his promise on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show, explaining why he could challenge Canelo in his own sport.

"Dana White, president of this motherf*cking company, said that I'm too much of a man for him". If they give me nice little change, I will take my talents over there. With a professional fighting record now at 35 wins to 13 losses - and 16 of those wins attained by knockout - the next milestone is obvious: The rising UFC star, who emerged from the South Florida backyard bareknuckle fighting circuit, wants a welterweight title fight. They want me under the most f-cked up circumstances. Yeah, he's a better boxer. "But can I bring some elements that boxers ain't used to that are in the legal realm of boxing and throw Canelo completely off his game?"

"I'm a naturally bigger dude and I punch like a f*cking truck and if I got those boxing gloves on I'm not afraid to break my hand so I'll be able to hit a bit extra harder".

"I feel I can be a legitimate [.] threat in there". Diaz was dominated by Masvidal, losing each round in the three-round battle including a lopsided 10-8 score in the second round.

Masvidal beat Diaz to a bloody pulp, dominating the fight from rounds one to three before Dr. Nitin K. Sethi advised the referee to end the bout before round four.
