Jonathan H Gray, a Sonic The Hedgehog comics artist, praised the new look design described it as "way more appealing and fun".

In April fans cried out in horror as they saw Sonic's lifelike original design with many slamming Sonic's human look as "freaky" and 'beyond very bad'.

Now, Sonic creator Yuji Naka has taken to Twitter to share his reaction to the new movie design and Dual Shockers translates his posts.

Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world's speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. But today, fans have reacted more positively, with one saying he is "at a loss for words" with the improvement in the redesign.

Fowler thanked people for their "patience and support" on Tuesday when he shared the final version of the electric blue hedgehog. "But I don't know what's going to happen". Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be...

Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka shared his thoughts in the speedsters redesign for the upcoming film.

The road to success for big screen video game adaptations has always been a bumpy one, with recent disappointments including Assassin's Creed, Warcraft and Tomb Raider. The official Sonic movie account replied to the missive with a simple message: "Sometimes all it takes is a makeover!"

Sonic The Hedgehog will premiere on February 14, 2020.
