Sombre Remembrance Day services held across Europe

Greeted by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, Macron inspected the troops during Monday's ceremony marking 101 years since the Armistice that ended combat in World War I.

The French leader will later inaugurate a monument for the hundreds of soldiers who have died in foreign operations since 1963.

Considering the fact that the 1960s, 549 French troopers have died in 17 theaters of conflict like 141 in Lebanon, 129 in Chad, 85 in Afghanistan and 78 in the former Yugoslavia.


Limited-edition dual branded poppy badges will be available to purchase for £3 from the Foxes Fanstore, with all proceeds going to The Royal British Legion.

Alan Birchenall, Club Ambassador, said: "The support this Football Club and the Blue Army shows to The Royal British Legion each year is incredible and I'm so proud to be a part of it".

The trail leads to the Vimy Ridge Memorial, where players are asked to stand in a moment of silence on November 11 at 11 p.m., then share images or streams using the hashtag #SaluteThePoppy.


The HMS Queen Elizabeth held one of the ceremonies taking place across Britain to mark the day.

Remembrance Island leads players through a custom Fortnite map replete with First World War trenches, D-Day beaches, the Vimy Ridge cenotaph, a Canadian military cemetery, and environments simulating areas where Canadians fought.

People across the district fell silent at 11am today to remember all those who lost their lives in service of their country.


Purple poppy: To remember animal victims of war. The 93-year-outdated monarch, who served as an military mechanic all through Planet War II, carried out the wreath-laying herself for most of her 67-yr reign, but has lower back again on her public duties.
