The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, written by Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten, features a fictionalized version of Cage who is down on his luck and desperate to revive his career by nabbing a role in Quentin Tarantino's new movie. Facing massive debt, Cage winds up making a special appearance at a Mexican billionaire's birthday party, learning the man is a huge Cage fan with hopes of showing the actor a script he's been working on.

It can't get any more Nicolas Cage than this!

What sounds like a hilarious love letter to the lore of Nic Cage will also have references to his famed movies such as Leaving Las Vegas, Face/Off and Gone In 60 Seconds. After the pair bond, the Central Intelligence Agency pulls Cage aside to inform him the billionaire is really the kingpin of a drug cartel and has kidnapped the daughter of a Mexican presidential nominee as well.

No word yet on whether any other actors are being considered for the movie. The situation is further out of control when the Mexican invites Cage's daughter and ex-wife to reconcile, and with their lives at risk, Cage plays the role of his life. Cage's other upcoming projects include the H.P. Lovecraft adaptation The Color Out of Space, opening January 24.

Cage will produce the project via his Saturn Films banner, alongside Mike Nilon and Kevin Turen.

There's now no word on when we can expect The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent to hit the big screen. Amazingly, the actor became attached to the film in the last few weeks.

The interest in the project was so high that sources say that Cage is lining up to achieve a payday that would put him in the same range he was in when making such studio hits as Con Air and National Treasure.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Cage will star in new horror film "Wally's Wonderland".
