Former head coach Willie Taggart was sacked earlier this week following a 4-5 start to the season and the FSU athletic director is reportedly determined to have their next coach in place by the end of November.

Tv set persona/retired National Football League participant Deion Sanders walks the Blue Carpet at the 2015 Pepsi Rookie of the 12 months Award Ceremony at Pepsi Super Friday Evening at Pier 70 on February 5, 2016 in San Francisco, California. Odell Haggins is serving as the Seminoles' interim coach for the remainder of the season.

Among the other notable names being tied to the opening include Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops, former University of Miami head coach Mark Richt, Clemson co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, Memphis head coach Mike Norvell, and even former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer (2011) has never previously coached at the collegiate level, although his resume does include some high school coaching experience having helped found the Prime Prep Academy in 2012.

Deion's son, Shedeur Sanders, is a four-star quarterback prospect in the class of 2021 out of Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas.

Love ya my brother!

Now, Glazer isn't typically who you would turn to for a Florida State scoop, but he wouldn't share the info if it wasn't coming from some side of this story.

Despite the optimism, the Tallahassee Democrat has gone on record saying Sanders is not actually a legitimate candidate.

Sanders was a two-time unanimous All-American at Florida State and the 1988 Jim Thorpe Award victor. Having been drafted by the Yankees in the 1988 MLB Draft, Sanders used NY to his advantage in a contract dispute with the Atlanta Falcons, who drafted him a year later with the fifth overall pick in the first round. His No. two jersey was retired at Doak Campbell Stadium in 1995.

For the first half of action on Saturday, the FSU football team looked like they had quite an uphill climb against a Boston College team they had barely beaten last season - but a comeback that may go down in history could have just made the Seminoles a team that could be bowling at the end of this season.
