ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews report that even prior to the odd Scott Perry and Steve Mills press conference on Sunday night following a blowout loss at the hands of the Cavaliers, the Knicks organization was beginning to "lay the internal groundwork" to fire the second-year coach.

"I believe Steve Mills should be drug-tested immediately for that statement", he added. We're very raw with each other. He would want us to have better results on the floor as well.

"[I have] Got to own that our home consistency is not there", Fizdale said. "The assurance is about I have a contract". It is customary for a head coach to be the first team official to talk to the media in a postgame setting, but Mills marched to the lectern to tells fans that the Knicks had fallen short of management's expectations.

"Obviously, (GM) Scott (Perry) and I are not happy with where we are right now", Mills told reporters. The fallout from Sunday's 108-87 loss to the Cavs was Mills and Perry, the general manager, holding an abrupt press conference to announce "we aren't happy where we are".

After missing out on both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant this offseason after trading Kristaps Porzingis a few months prior, the Knicks' roster is in a state of limbo, with limited cornerstone pieces.

Mills has presided over the arrivals and departures of five Knicks coaches.

Mark Jackson, the previous level guard and coach, who had a number of stints in NY throughout his taking part in days, is seemingly a reputation to observe if the Knicks transfer on from Fizdale, in accordance with Sports activities Illustrated's Chris Mannix. Fizdale accepted responsibility for the team's struggles in his own postgame news conference Sunday night. But we also have to acknowledge that we haven't played at the level we expected to play at. Smith said. "Ladies and gentlemen, just for full disclosure, ESPN Radio is the flagship station for the New York Knicks, and I'm still telling you they stink".
