Hollywood star Kristen Bell will be back as a narrator in the upcoming "Gossip Girl" reboot, and she looks forward to returning to the world of the teen drama.

Bell is also theonlymember of the show's old cast to be returning, at least to date; the show's producers have made it clear that Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and all their former fake NY socialites are welcome to be a part of the new streaming series, but the show will focus primarily on a new crop of lovelorn, status-obsessed social climbers.

The synopsis for the series reads: "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of NY private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl".

Gossip Girl will no longer be a lone blogger of the likes of Dan "Lonely Boy" Humphrey, because "we are all Gossip Girl now", says show creator, Josh Schwartz (who is also responsible for hit series, The OC).

It follows a new gen of NY private school teens who are introduced to the all-knowing Gossip Girl.

The original Gossip Girl cast. The logline: Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of NY private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. During the premiere of her new film, Disney's Frozen 2 she revealed that she is quite excited about to be back on the show as an omniscient narrator.

"It's just a new look at this particular society in NY, the idea being that society changes constantly", Safran said about the new series. It will be written by the original run's former executive producer Joshua Safran.

Last July, Schwartz clarified that this new series will not be a reboot, but rather more of a sequel. "But obviously, it would be great to see them again", he added. "I don't think it's going to be a meditative version of Gossip Girl".
