Dwyane Wade Describes What He Told Heat Players Before They Faced Lakers

Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers continued their roll as they returned to Staples Center and beat the Miami Heat 95-80, earning their seventh consecutive win.

After the South Florida Sun Sentinel independently confirmed that Waiters had taken ill on the flight, with emergency responders meeting the team plane on the tarmac, Slater reported Friday night, "Waiters overdosed on 'gummies, ' sources say, and was passed out when plane landed". Waiters was listed as out for Friday's game against the Lakers due to illness and did not attend the game. "He had a seizure when he was finally woken up, I'm told".

When Heat coach Eric Spoelstra was asked pregame about Waiter's health he went with a very standard coach tactic of saying he would only talk about the players suiting up. Therefore, many are led to believe that James no longer holds the title as the NBA's best player.

Waiters did fly back with the team to Miami on Saturday morning.

Waiters was not with the team at Staples Center for Friday night's game, and has yet to be on the bench for a game this season, after being suspended for the October 23 season-opening victory over the Memphis Grizzlies at AmericanAirlines Arena due to what the Heat determined to be conduct detrimental to the team. Think of it like this: If all the current National Basketball Association rosters were dismantled and each team was to draft from a pool of players in today's National Basketball Association, but for only this season, what would the top ten picks be?

Waiters has yet to suit up for the Heat this season and was for the opening night game for "conduct detrimental to the team". He missed time during the preseason for personal reasons, got suspended for the season opener and was ruled out of their game on Thursday night against the Suns due to a stomach ache.

The buzz around the league is the Heat are trying to trade Waiters, but the two-years, $24.8 million still on his contract may make that hard.
