Bloomberg has only filed paperwork to appear in the Alabama and Arkansas primaries.

Bloomberg is targeting states that Trump narrowly won in 2016: Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The country got more evidence Friday: Bloomberg is planning to spend $100 million on new digital ads in key battleground states. "You will be seeing a lot of Mike Bloomberg".

"We're very clear: A case that we make for Mike is that he is the best candidate to take on Trump, and one of the reasons he is the best candidate is he can take the fight to him immediately and robustly", Wolfson said, noting the blitz would be focused on anti-Trump content.

Meanwhile, a new poll from Reuters/Ipsos shows that Bloomberg would be tied in fifth if he entered the race.

That's roughly the identical time the billionaire media mogul and former mayor modified his registration from impartial since he first explored a doable difficulty to President Trump. Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of NY, who has endorsed Sen Bernie Sanders of Vermont, wrote on Twitter on Thursday. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), former Vice President Joe Biden, and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

When Bloomberg was not included as a choice, 23 percent of the respondents said they supported Biden. Bloomberg had lower favorability ratings than the three frontrunners.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted online, in English, throughout the United States.

The Trump campaign, in responding to the digital ad buy, took aim at Bloomberg and his record governing New York City. Tennessee's top election officials say Bloomberg has requested a petition that would require securing 2,500 signatures from registered voters in less than a month if he wants to qualify for the state's Democratic presidential primary ballot.

Bloomberg's public flirtation with a run, after saying in March that he would not seek the nomination, came days before former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick announced his late entry into the Democratic field.
