Cincinnati breweries really represented at this year's Great American Beer Festival, bringing home several different awards for craft brews.

Gold medal: Who's Brett? by The Hold By Revelry Brewing in Charleston. Hofbräuhaus Cleveland earned a bronze for its Schwarzbier Dark Lager, Noble Beast Brewing secured a bronze for its Murder Ballads Baltic-style Porter, Akron's Hoppin' Frog Brewery took home a bronze Pentuple Belgian-style Ale, and Wooster-based JAFB won a bronze medal for JAF IPA, an American-style Strong Pale Ale.

"I am so proud of our brewing team". After three days of blind tasting, the professional judges' panel awards "gold, silver and bronze medals for excellence in 107 beer-style categories". "They consistently put forth award winning products year after year", said Jaime Dietenhofer Founder/Owner of Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co., "It is a testament to the wonderful team we have at Figueroa Mountain".

In the 33rd edition of the GABF competition, 9,497 entries were submitted to the general competition, along with 113 Pro-Am and 70 Collaboration entries.

This weekend Cortlandt Toczylowski from King's Court Brewery in Poughkeepsie won a silver medal for his Imperial Red Ale named Frogs Like Possum.

While there are many beer competitions held all over the United States every year, the Great American Beer Festival is known as one of the most prestigious. "The beers and talent were as impressive as ever, and we congratulate this year's winners for their achievements in brewing". It has renewed our perseverance and commitment to making the best quality beer possible.
