Years later, Forster played pop to Carla Gugino's Karen Sisco in ABC's short-lived series based on the Elmore Leonard character.

The Oscar-nominated actor had a longstanding career filled with noteworthy appearances in films like Jackie Brown, London Has Fallen, Mulholland Drive, The Delta Force, Psycho (1998), Alligator, The Descendants, Olympus Has Fallen, Twin Peaks, The Simpsons, and dozens of others.

Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston tweeted: "I'm saddened today by the news that Robert Forster has passed away".

Forster's first substantial role in Hollywood was in 1967's Reflections in the Golden Eye, where he held his own opposite co-stars Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando. A lovely man and a consummate actor.

Forster also appeared in "El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie", which was recently released. I never forgot how kind and generous he was to a young kid just starting out in Hollywood.

Robert was best known for his role in Jackie Brown starring alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Pam Grier and Robert De Niro.

"I had four kids, I took any job I could get", he said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune previous year.

"And that's when I realised I was going to get another shot at a career", Forster said.

According to Variety, Forster is survived by his children, Bobby, Elizabeth, Kate and Maeghen; his grandchildren, Tess, Liam, Jack and Olivia; and his longtime partner, Denise Grayson.
