This gives you a two day headstart on the open beta which runs from 14th-16th September, letting you get into the game early on Thursday 12th September.

Following the success of the Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha, which was the biggest Alpha or Beta in Call of Duty history on PS4, the time has come to check out even more Multiplayer content: The Beta rolls out this week! More importantly, this beta test includes cross-play.

The second beta will be available for both Xbox One and PC gamers and, will support crossplay between all three platforms. The PlayStation 4 Beta weekend begins Thursday, September 12 at 10 a.m. PDT and ends at an unannounced time on the morning of Monday, September 16.

Once the beta comes and goes, it'll just be another month until launch.

According to Activision, who offered Beta details on their official Games Blog, the Beta will let players try out new gameplay mechanics that sets Modern Warfare apart from previous entries, including "bullet penetration, gun mounting, door breaching and night vision multiplayer gameplay maps".

To redeem codes, you will need to head to www.callofduty.com/beta and go via Activision's redemption portal to then get your MW beta Early Access code for PlayStation 4.

To pre-load the game, players must find the Modern Warfare Open Beta on the PlayStation Store and download it.

The first Beta Test Weekend is exclusively for PS4 owners, running from Thursday, September 12 to the morning of Monday, September 16. September 19-20 are restricted to "early access" players who placed a pre-order on Xbox One or PC via Battle.net, while September 21-23 are open to all players. Once you pre-order, you'll be able to access a Redeem Code. On Xbox One, however, you're going to need a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription regardless of whether you're playing the early access or open beta. Minimum Open Beta duration is 2 days.

The modes that will be available in the beta phase are the 2v2 Gunfight mode and 6v6 squad combat.

Beta Code Not Needed: If you pre-ordered Modern Warfare digitally, you are automatically ready to download the Beta.

A new trailer released for the multiplayer Beta heavily features in-game vehicles, including ATVs, plus kill streaks granted to deadly players, like precision airstrikes. However, not everyone will be able to play the beta at the same time. Looking for more precise details on available content?
