Wendy's To Launch A Breakfast Menu Next Year

Wendy's Co. has cut its earnings outlook as it spends to roll out breakfast across the U.S. Shares fell on the news.

Next year, Wendy's will start serving up breakfast at thousands of locations across the United States.

To support the move to breakfast, Wendy's said the company and its local franchisees plan to hire around 20,000 new crew members across the country. Adding breakfast at restaurants will mean Wendy's will add 20,000 employees.

The fast-food chain plans to launch breakfast nationwide in 2020.

The Breakfast Baconator: An egg, six strips of Applewood smoked bacon, a breakfast sausage patty, two slices of American cheese, and swiss cheese hollandaise sauce on a bun.

"Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit" is a buttermilk biscuit with a fried chicken sandwiched in between with whipped honey butter.

The Frosty-ccino: Cold-brew coffee mixed with either chocolate or vanilla Frosty cream.

Wendy's is making another run at breakfast.

"Launching breakfast in our US restaurants nationwide provides incredible growth opportunities", Wendy's President and CEO Todd Penegor said in a statement, adding that having Wendy's "fan favorites" on the breakfast menu will set it apart from the competition.

Next year you can rise and shine and welcome the day at Wendy's restaurants.

FOX Business reached out to Wendy's for comment at the time of this report, however, the fast-food chain said it will reveal more information during its Investor Day on October 11, 2019. A spokesperson told CNN Business that Wendy's plans to offer more than that, including seasoned potatoes and croissant sandwiches.

McDonald's, on the other hand, has been scaling back its all-day breakfast offerings at select franchises.
