This time around, only half the amount of candidates qualified as the 20 who took stage for the June debates in Miami, Florida and July debates in Detroit, Michigan. "That stability is under threat on Thursday", reports the Associated Press.

Warren has polling momentum, which may make her more of a target for other candidates. With the audience getting bigger, the ranks of candidates shrinking and first votes approaching in five months, the stakes are rising.

Democratic presidential candidate, Sen.

If nothing else, viewers will see the diversity of the modern Democratic Party.

The debate will be held at Texas Southern University, a public, historically black university, and will air from 8 to 11 pm ET across ABC, Univision with a Spanish translation, locally on KTRK-TV, as well as embedded on this page above via YouTube.

Has much changed in the polls since last debate?

Each candidate who qualified needed to receive 2% or more of support in at least four polls between June 28 and August 28 approved by the Democratic National Committee, and at least 130,000 unique donors, with there being 400 unique donors per state in at least 20 states. Cory Booker, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro, Sen. Biden says he was "proud to serve as his vice president, but never more proud than the day we passed health care".

"I like her a lot", he said.

"This is a great opportunity for me". One area ripe for debate is on bankruptcy law, an issue where they have a history.

Mr. Rendell highlighted how Ms. Warren transferred $10.4 million from her Senate reelection campaign - including money from the kinds of big donor fundraisers she criticizes on the campaign trail - into her presidential bid, giving her a head start on most of her rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Notably, the credibility that the general electorate extends to Warren is not replicated with Senator Bernie Sanders, despite their similar approaches to public policy. But he regularly contrasts the price tag of his public option insurance proposal to the single-payer system that Warren and Sanders back.

Biden is shown saying in footage from a campaign event that Obama "was a president our children could and did look up to". Finney noted Biden's consistent polling advantages on the question of which Democrat can defeat Trump.

"For me, this is just a better chance to talk about why I'm in this fight", Warren told reporters, adding "the way I have all along".

Warren and Biden have tangled before.
