Trump Taunts CNN's Chris Cuomo Over 'Fredo' Jibe

But on Tuesday he put his peanut butter and chocolate together.

CNN host Chris Cuomo was the victim of a setup, though he still made a decision to get into a verbal altercation instead of walking away, according to Juan Williams.

Edward Falco, the author of the 2012 novel "The Family Corleone" that is meant as a prequel to the Godfather, weighed in on Chris Cuomo being referred to as "Fredo".

"I thought that's who you were."
You wanna call me s***?

"[In my humble opinion] Chris Cuomo has zero to apologize for". I'm an anchor on CNN. Fredo is from The Godfather, he was that weak brother.

"He's the older weak brother". They use it as an Italian aspersion. Are any of you Italian? It's an insult to your f*cking people.

"The N word is a dehumanizing word used against blacks who endured years of oppression", tweeted Katrina Pierson, a Trump campaign spokesperson. "Is that a cool f--ing thing?"

OK, that definitely doesn't equate. He also said he'd throw the guy down a flight of stairs.

CNN political commentator Ana Navarro-Cárdenas invoked Fredo in this manner on Cuomo's show in January, when she compared US President Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr, to Fredo. At least not yet.

The instigator goes another way...

Based on the clip, we'll go out on a limb and say Cuomo is more of a Sonny than a Fredo. "Call me s*** then", the TV personality says as bystanders begin holding the men back from each another. It's an insult to your f-king people. It's an insult to your people.

He continues, "You're going to have a big f***ing problem".

On Twitter, Cuomo said it was an example of the "worst" sort of behavior from a lawmaker and the "best" from a reporter.

On Tuesday, Cuomo responded to the controversy, acknowledging he could have handled the situation better. Cuomo asks the group gathered around during the argument. I'll f*cking ruin your sh*t. "So you can f-- sue?" People gather around. Someone yells out WorldStar.

"I thought it was your name", the man said.

"That was after the president shared the video, writing that he "thought Chris was Fredo also", adding", The truth hurts".

He just said it again.

"He looked like a total out-of-control animal". "He shouldn't be allowed to have any weapon", Trump wrote, calling Cuomo "nuts".

Amusing enough, Trump's closest confidante went the other way. "He's out with his nine-year-old daughter, and his wife, and this guy is being a jackass in front of his family".

Trump Jr. also pointed to a clip from Cuomo's CNN show in which a panellist refers to the son of the USA president as "Fredo" and the host appears not to take issue. "He deserves the apology", the Hannity host tweeted.

Huh. When Hannity is on your side, you really need to evaluate...

Although as a CNN host Cuomo typically comes off as a voice of rationality when juxtaposed with the likes of Jim Acosta, Don Lemon, Brian Stelter and other extremists on the network, the potential to rile the elder Cuomo brother by ruffling his sibling likely seemed an enticing prospect. "It clearly unacceptable. And good for Chris for standing up for himself". "This happens all the time", Scaramucci tweeted. Often in front of my family. "I should be better than what I oppose".

Well, we're glad he learned something. "We also offer uploaders the ability to appeal removals and we will re-review the content".
