Apple's Next iPad, iPad Pro Could Feature Multiple Rear Cameras

It could happen, though, as everyone is expecting the current naming scheme to carry on to the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max, and iPhone 11R.

Presently, the iPad pro-only features a single 12MP camera, so going from a single-lens to triple-lens array in one year would be a notable jump.

It will feature mainly internal upgrades, with a focus on the camera system, the Pro phone gaining a triple lens camera and a new square camera hump on the back of the phone. While the 2019 iPad Pro will get three lenses, the upcoming 10.2-inch iPad model will presumably be fitted with a twin-lens camera.

Apple's larger iPhones had the "Plus" label attached from the iPhone 6 Plus in 2014 to the iPhone 8 Plus in 2018.

Apple continues to make advances with AR and new, more powerful cameras would further allow its devices to better combine virtual objects with the real world.

While Macotakara has been accurate with details on unreleased Apple products in the past, this report from a supply chain source in China only claims there's a "possibility" the new iPad Pros might come with three cameras.

Even though Apple has updated its iPhones with dual-camera systems, the company has not added multiple camera options to its tablets as yet. And the launch timeline seems to be in line considering Apple just recently registered two new iPad models Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). The latest iPad Pro features a 12 MP sensor at the rear.

The new iPad Pro models and the sixth-generation non-pro iPad are rumoured to launch in October.
