Woman receives 'marijuana' birthday cake after request for 'Moana' theme is misunderstood

For her 25th birthday, Davis' mother chose to get her daughter a cake based on the film.

A birthday cake blunder is getting a lot of attention after a cake decorator misunderstood the order.

According to Walker, her manager at the fast-food chain misheard Kensli Taylor Davis' mother, who placed the order, and thought she said "marijuana" instead of "Moana". "My mama called and ordered me a cake telling them how much I loved Moana", she wrote. (Because really I do) Well needless to say these people thought she said marijuana. Davis told WMAZ-TV. "I guess when they said that I love cartoons, they were just like, 'Let's throw a little pony on there.' It had red eyes".

The birthday celebration brought a big surprise when the cake turned out to feature a marijuana leaf and a My Little Pony-style illustration of an equine smoking a joint.

Her post about the shocking mishap has gone viral on Facebook, with more than 14,000 shares. It has since been shared more than 13,000 times.

The Dairy Queen employee who made a viral marijuana-themed cake said she was sacked on her birthday for the mix-up.

Walker says she was terminated on Monday, which also happened to be her birthday, after working at that Dairy Queen location for about a year. "That ice cream cake was still good though". "As I boxed the cake up, she was the one who walked it up to the front".

Dairy Queen co-owner Al Autry acknowledged the mix-up in a statement to USA Today but did not confirm or deny Walker's termination.

Walker added that by Thursday afternoon, a Dairy Queen manager - a different person from the one who approved the cake - had called and offered her her job back.

"It was a mistake", she said to USA Today. "She walked by as I decorated the cake. But to be at this job for nearly a year and not have a write-up, not be in trouble, and to just be let go because of mistake, it's not amusing to me".

She says the first one was so good - and hilarious - she didn't take them up on it. "It could been considered a learning experience".
