Why Cardi B Is Right About Her Defense Of Female Rappers

Moments after So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri revealed that he thought the current state of women rappers consisted of "stripper's rapping", multiple female rappers came to the mic to air out their grievances with Dupri's baseless comments.

"I feel like they all rapping about the same thing", the 46-year-old remarked.

"Jermaine, who helped launch the career of an original female emcee Da Brat and also worked with the likes of Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson, went on to say, "[Female rappers] are all rapping about the same thing. As far as rap goes, I'm not getting 'who is the best rapper.' I'm getting, like, you got a story about you dancing in the club, YOU got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story... OK. "So don't blame that on us when y'all not the ones who are supporting them", said Cardi, and proceeded to give a shout-out to burgeoning women emcees Tierra Whack, Oranicuhh, and Kamaiyah as three rappers who deserve more mainstream attention. "This is not what I was expecting, '" she continued.

"It's like, if that's what people ain't trying to hear, then I'm going to start rapping about my p**sy again", Cardi said.

"I can't really say".

But for those looking for other subject matters in the music they listen to, she shared in a second video a few artists who she thinks rap fans need to check out, including Rapsody, Tierra Whack, Chika, and Kamaiyah.

"These girls can rap they asses off and they don't rap about their vaginas and sucking d-".

Cardi explained that she released a song, "Be Careful" that wasn't based on sex and her fans weren't here for it.

Cardi B hopped on Instagram to respond to the Hip Hop icon, rightfully so because her name was brought up in the conversation and she's one of the most successful strippers turned rapper.

The truth is, Jermaine Dupri's brand of non-logic has always been used by a certain kind of rap fan, not just to pit women against one another, but to demean rappers who use sex to help them sell.

Watch her second video below. Most people that are at the top like her don't do this often and if they do, it's probably for she's done so much to get here and that goes so overlooked, and I don't think that's right. "Radio DJs play these girls", Cardi said.

Aside from being a rapper herself, Cardi has been vocal about being a stripper.
