Barcelona have fended off reported interest from other European heavyweights to sign England youth worldwide Louie Barry, with the Ligue 1 champions rumoured to be eyeing the 16-year old, along with several Premier League clubs.

Barry underwent a medical at Barca's training ground last Saturday and signed a contract later that same day, with the club confirming the deal on Thursday.

Barry first rose to prominence past year when he scored 10 goals in five games for England Under-15s at a tournament in Italy.

The 16-year-old was offered a new contract at the Hawthorns but rejected the Baggies' offer in favour of a switch to Catalonia.

Barcelona will have to pay at least €130,000 to West Brom in training compensation for Barry, per FIFA's regulations, although sources have indicated to ESPN FC they are willing to pay more as a goodwill gesture. Meanwhile, English side West Brom who previously owned the youngster, is expected to receive a fee of £235,000 as part of the transfer move.

The teenager won the Golden Boot with three goals as he helped England Under-16s win Val-de-Marne, a UEFA tournament, last year. He's penned a three year deal and will play for Juvenil A next season.
