Star Trek: Picard: CBS All Access Unveils Key Art for Sequel Series

Jean-Luc Picard is not the first Starfleet captain to own a dog, and let's remember, he's apparently not with Starfleet anymore.

Details on the show are still scarce, but there will probably be some substantial info at the Comic-Con panel.

The artwork comes just days before next weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, where it's expected that Picard, along with Discovery, Lower Decks and the entire Star Trek franchise will be taking over Hall H with some major reveals.

The dog's name remains a mystery, but his rank was spotted by eagle-eyed fans on the Starfleet emblem hanging from his collar.

While the vineyard setting presents a golden opportunity to the Star Trek braintrust (seven words: The Grapes of The Wraith of Khan) but hopefully the series will get Picard back in space where he does best. Of course it's a good thing this show exists, especially now that I know there's a dog involved. We must abide by them. If it wasn't for the giant planet and spectacular sunset on the horizon, you'd be forgiven for thinking this was more Sideway 2 than Star Trek.

On Star Trek: The Next Generation, Picard once visited his family's vineyard in France and presumably this is the same one. The new series will follow this iconic character into the next chapter of his life.

Star Trek: Picard will be appearing later this year, and will feature Sir Patrick Stewart, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, Eva Evagora, Michelle Hurd, Alison Pill, and Harry Treadaway.
