An Instagram influencer in Russian Federation who amassed tens of thousands of followers has been discovered dead, stuffed in a suitcase in her own Moscow apartment days after posting vacation photos from a trip to the Greek island of Corfu.

Police had previously described Ms Karaglanova's apartment as spotlessly cleaned, with no traces of a struggle.

The 24-year-old's ex-boyfriend was seen on surveillance video arriving at the apartment and then leaving several hours later a few days before family noticed she was missing, the BBC reported.

It is believed the man used the suitcase to dispose of her bloodstained clothes and a weapon used to slit her throat and stab her twice.

Ekaterina Karaglanova, who boasted more than 87,000 Instagram followers, was found dead Friday in her rented apartment after relatives told police they had not heard from her in several days, Moscow newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets reported.

The body of 24-year-old Ekaterina Karaglanova was discovered in a suitcase at her own apartment in Moscow on Friday, according to Russian media reports.

They called the landlord to request access to her apartment and found her body in a suitcase in the hallway.

CCTV footage captured a former boyfriend of Dr Karaglanova visiting her property in the days around her disappearance, but police did not say whether he was being investigated further, according to MK.

On Instagram Karaglanova wrote about her numerous trips to Europe, lifestyle and cosmetics.

Ms Karaglanova had recently graduated as a doctor and specialised in dermatology.

Karaglanova documented her global travels to her more than 90,000 Instagram followers, and her final post was shared on July 22.

"Generally, to be honest, I do not like a long rest", she wrote.
