A hand then removes the lid of the tongue depressor jar before a young girl whose face is blurred appears to lick the wooden stick before putting it back in a jar.

Court documents show Ward was charged with a felony offence, tampering with consumer product without regard for possible death/bodily injury.

"I am not a bad mother", she wrote.

In a statement to the station, officials at the medical center said they "immediately removed all materials and containers" from the examination room and sanitized the entire facility.

"It's awful. I mean, I'm scared for my kids, especially, my oldest that's out and on her own since they posted her photo", she said.

Her soon-to-be ex-husband says he was horrified when he realized the girl in the video was his daughter.

A mother is claiming that a Snapchat video, initially shared between her and a few friends, has resulted in death threats towards her and her family after a third person shared it on Facebook.

Ward apologized to WJAX-TV, saying she threw away the used depressor after the recording and was unaware of the current "licking" social media craze, USA Today reports.

The video comes amid a disturbing trend in which people are licking items and putting them back. The hospital confirmed that the video depicts her room for inspection. "I didn't know she was going to lick it and put it back and I posted without thinking".

The statement did not reveal if the woman in the video is still a patient at the practice, or how the video was discovered by the office. "I'm very embarrassed. That is not how I want my children raised or brought up". "Each year, we serve thousands of patients, and providing quality care and ensuring their safety is our top priority".

The video shows the man, identified in news reports as Lenise Martin III, licking the ice cream at a supermarket in Louisiana.

But like most viral social media content, the video quickly inspired copycats, creating what has now been dubbed the "Ice Cream Challenge".
