A cactus went through a car's windshield when the driver struck the saguaro after crossing the median Wednesday morning in Tucson, according to Pima County Sheriff's Department officials.

Kai Scott, 39, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and criminal damage, deputies said.

Officials say the driver hit the cactus when his auto crossed a median.

According to information from the Northwest Fire District, nobody was hurt, even though the auto came to rest with a large saguaro sticking out of the windshield, just missing the driver. "Miraculously, no injuries were reported", they wrote while sharing the pic, which shows a large cactus sticking out of the car's windshield. They also say he was taken to the hospital with minor scrapes and bruises, but the vehicle took severe damage.

Mr Jelineo said deputies detained the driver for further investigation after observing signs and symptoms of impairment.
