Falcons WR Jones: ‘I’m in a great place’

Julio Jones has one very lofty goal this season.

Jason Smith expands on the insane remarks made by Mr. Jones and Mike Harmon explains the deep offensive weapons on the Atlanta Falcons that won't allow that to happen. Jones told ESPN that he understands that he can not sign a new deal until July 27 (Saturday), because that's the one-year mark since he signed his contract adjustment back in 2018.

"Well, I'm not a prediction-type guy, but I might mess around and go three (thousand yards), you know what I'm talking about", Jones said, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's D. Orlando Ledbetter. While no one has ever surpassed 2,000 yards in a season, Julio believes he's enough of a one man wrecking crew that 3,000 yards is possible. "I'm doing more and more every day". The Atlanta Falcons star tweaked his hamstring on Thursday, just a week into training camp, and was forced to leave practice. I'm taking care of my body.

It's safe to say that Jones isn't going to hit 3,000 yards this year, but the thought of playing a peeved Jones looking for a new contract isn't the most exciting. "Physically and mentally, I'll be ready to go".

Jones hauled in 113 passes last season for 1,677 yards, and has a career high of 1,871 yards back in 2015. "I don't wake up thinking about it. That's my why. Why I put in all of these sacrifices and put everything on the line for them".
