Liverpool fans ran onto the pitch following their teams 6-0 win over Tranmere in a pre-season friendly, with many of them trying to get a picture with Champions League hero Divock Origi.

However, Klopp wants the player to start developing his all-round game.

Liverpool, who missed out on the league title to Manchester City by one point last season, play Pep Guardiola's side in the Community Shield on Aug. 4 before they begin the new league campaign on August 9 at home to promoted Norwich City.

Nathaniel Clyne opened the scoring for the Reds in the sixth minute of the match before Rhian Brewster - who was part of the 2017 Federation Internationale de Football Association U-17 World Cup-winning England team - scored a brace late in the first half to make the scoreboard read 3-0.

"He played a really good game and I saw other good performances - Harry (Wilson) and Ryan (Kent) in the first half and then in the second half incredibly strong".

Since joining Liverpool in 2014 from Lille on a five-year deal, Origi has scored 28 goals in 98 games for the club. "Now he is this wonderful player again so it's great to have him and I'm really, really happy about the signing".

"100 per cent [it is a big season] but it depends on [Brewster] as well", Klopp said.

He said: "We brought them in already, only you don't realise it".

Liverpool have so far signed youngster Sepp Van Den Berg but are not expected to make any major signings this summer.

After that Curtis Jones, Divock Origi and Bobby Duncan all found themselves on the scoresheet.

The transfer market is open.

"He has to play different positions as well - the centre, wing is possible I think, we will see how we line up, but there will be opportunities for him".

The first-teamers who will be present are Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Joel Matip, Fabinho, Joe Gomez and Nathaniel Clyne.
